4 Most Influential Ways to become a Strong and Practicing Muslim Student

Being a Muslim is an unprecedented blessing of our sole creator Allah (SWT). Islam is not just a religion. It is not a mere name of offering the five times prayer or performing the two religious pilgrimages of Umrah and Hajj. Most of the Muslims perform hajj and Umrah and think they have completed their duty. Muslims avail Hajj and Ramadan Umrah packages to embark on these pilgrimages. But Islam is more than this, it is the complete code of life. It is another name of a particular lifestyle decreed by the only creator Allah (SWT).  Hence a person who staunchly accepts and adopts this lifestyle is proudly termed as a Muslim.  Islam is the life of piety, purity, and peace. It is the firmest promise of a Muslim to Allah (SWT) to refrain from what the Creator has called Haram and practice everything permitted by Him.

Hence it is an undeniable fact that every religion being practiced in the world has its own rules and regulations to be strictly followed by its relevant followers. Similarly, this appeasing religion Islam also demands its followers to act upon its rules and regulations. However, if you intend to peruse and pursue this religion, you will ultimately become the best version of yourself. Your heart will be filled with ‘Imaan’ (Allah’s Love and faith), khair (betterment) and contentment.

4 Easiest Ways to become a strong and consistent Muslim Student

Based upon my own life as a Muslim student, I would like to share my own experiences about how I inculcated Islam in my life since my university days. Being a student, I believe that we all are learners. Islam loves learners. Our holiest Prophet (SAW) also encourages us to open up Quran, know Allah (SWT), learn his commandments and promote them to other people.

Here are the five easiest ways that you must employ in your student life in particular to become and remain a strong and confident Muslim even if you are amidst your non-Muslim fellas.

Join Islamic Organizations and Online Communities

To become a practicing and a consistent Muslim, you need not to grow a lengthy beard at all. You can be clean shaved and still remain a good Muslim. Being a Muslim in your student life, I strongly recommend you to join Islamic groups in your institution. If you are unable to find the Islamic communities in the university, then you can go for the online Islamic groups on Facebook and Twitter. Here you can indulge yourself in the Islamic matters of Fiqah and Shariyah in your free time.  In this way you would save yourself from the Haram (prohibited) and anti-Islamic activities floating on the social media platforms.

Join Charity Organizations and NGOs

Indeed Allah (SWT) loves those who feed the poor and needy.  You can affirm your connection with your Creator by helping his creation. It is such an appeasing feeling without any doubt. You can give alms to your fellow deserving folks. You can also contribute towards their well-being by working for them in your nearby NGO. Being a Muslim, I staunchly believe that every one of us must give our considerable contribution towards the betterment of our society.

Keep Good Company or Stand Alone

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters, Islam doesn’t allow us to befriend the opposite genders. This act is not halal (permissible) in Islam. It even doesn’t allow the free intermixing of girls and boys. Your company of friends matters a lot. If you are involved in the bad company of carefree or immoral people, they would turn you away from the remembrance of Allah (SWT).  Hence it’s better to stay alone with the dhiker (remembrance) of Allah than to fix yourself in any bad company.

Keep your tongue busy in Dhikr (Allah’s Remembrance)

It is highly advisable to keep yourself busy with the remembrance of Allah (SWT). Instead of humming random and prohibited musical tones, keep your tongue busy in Duas (prayers) and dhikr (recitation of Quranic Surahs). There are many short duas and prayers present in the glorious Holy Quran that you can easily learn by heart.

Believe me dear Muslim folks; these appeasing strategies really work miraculously
